In our last petite style post we talked a lot about what to wear in the City during the warm summer months. We touched upon the perfect petite outfits to wear from desk-to-dinner but didn’t actually tell you where to go for dinner, or drinks, or wherever you fancy after work. So with that in mind, we have created a quick round-up of rooftop bars to frequent in London during this long hot summer...
- Bar Elba – Waterloo
The perfect place to have an after work drink and still soak up some of the sun, Bar Elba’s rooftop bar is fantastic. Part of the Adventure group, who look after bars like Adventure and Tonight Josephine’s, Bar Elba has some delicious cocktails and a blooming great flower wall. We’d recommend wearing a petite shift dress, sandals and some fabulous sunglasses. The name draws its inspiration from Napoleon - something to think about as you are sipping on your cocktail!
- Madison’s – St Pauls
Madison’s has been top of the list for a long time. Whether you go for an after work bite or drink, you’ll no doubt have a fabulous time. The Bar at Madison is a destination in its own right with spectacular city views, a wide range of cocktails and delicious bar snacks. We’d recommend going to the rooftop to see for yourself and you too can gaze at the cupola of St Paul's. Why not wear a petite skirt and fitted shirt to master the art of chic after work drinks.
- Savage Garden - DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel
First of all, what a name! We love it. Located on the 12the floor of the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel, Tower of London, Savage Garden is a chic cocktail lounge with large rooftop terrace overlooking Tower Bridge and Tower of London. It has just opened so be one of the first! Wear some petite trousers and a petite top and look super chic as you gaze at the 360 views of the landscape.
4. Rumpus Room – Mondrian Hotel
Another gem right in the heart of London, Rumpus Room is located at the renowned Mondrian hotel on the Southbank, you know the one - famous for its retro American inspired furniture. A bright and verdant riverside rooftop bar, Rumpus Room is perfect for enjoying the iconic view and has live music every Wednesday. If you’re going to have a little dance later, we would recommend you wearing a simple petite black dress you can dress up with heels and your favourite lipstick.
5. Radio Rooftop Bar – The Strand
Another hotel bar wonder, Radio Rooftop Bar sits on the 10th floor of ME London hotel based at The Strand. With breathtaking views across the river Thames and London’s skyline. The rooftop is accessible via a dedicated express lift from the ground floor of the hotel. Try a few of their signature cocktails. Dress code: smart and glamourous.
