I have loved how setting up my own petite womenswear brand has brought so many new challenges and opportunities. This month sees my first fashion column for the professional magazine Lawyer Monthly. I took the opportunity in my opening piece to introduce myself to the readers of this professional magazine and explain how it had come about that an ex-lawyer had been asked to write a fashion column. Do take a look and let me know what you think. In months to come I will be writing on a whole range of style topics for both men and women. The magazine has a readership of around 300,000 and their readers come from across the globe. Fun times!
Of course those of you reading this blog know that Jennifer Anne is my petite fashion brand but not all of you will have known that for most of my career I worked as a lawyer. It is lovely to have the 2 strands come together with my writing in Lawyer Monthly. Much like my participation in an upcoming panel event at the Law Society in London as part of a Speaker Series with the charity Dress for Success. This wonderful organisation helps women get back to work by preparing them for interview - Dress for Success provide free professional clothing and styling, interview coaching as well as ongoing support once they re-join the workplace.
I am very much looking forward to the event which takes place on 27 September at the Law Society in London. I am to be a member of The Fashion and Law Panel along with other fashion entrepreneurs/lawyers and will be considering a number of issues such as sustainability and ethical manufacturing. Full details are to be found on the Dress for Success website.
I am sure I will let you know more about the organisation and their events going forward as I am so pleased to be helping them.
